Snugglepot & Cuddlepie

The Adventures of Snugglepot & Cuddlepie is an animated projection show directed by Ample Projects, Sydney. Jelena was commissioned by Ample to bring to life May Gibbs' beloved Australian storybook characters Snugglepot, Cuddlepie and Ragged Blossom, for their centenary.

 

Jelena designed and animated several minutes of 2D character animation over 9 minutes, including those featured below. A site specific work, the animation was designed to be projected on the facade of the famous Customs House building in Circular Quay. The animation was displayed every night from 5.30 - 11pm for the duration of Vivid Sydney 2018.

The animation was nominated as a finalist and won the Silver Award in the Best Live Event category at the prestigious AEAF Awards 2018.
